Creative people love to talk about their work, and Novalock loves to listen. Through the passionate discussion and live questioning of the idea, the story being pitched can blossom in real-time.
Addressing the Haters…
I could just use AI. Why do I need you?
Artificial Intelligence makes it easy to write stories, but it’s extremely likely to suffer from AI hallucination. It’s also inconsistent with addressing the themes the work is prompted to give.
I couldn’t take a masterclass on this?
You’re sitting staring at another screen as you try to learn and type out a work all by yourself. “Why keep going? Who’s going to read it?”, you keep thinking to yourself. Night after night. Until you give up completely.
Wouldn’t a community college teacher teach me the same thing?
You have to DRIVE? To class?? FOR FUN?? Sure, there’s a community there, but imagine the TIME commitment it takes to do that? If you had that much time, let’s be real here, you’d have done it already. Yet here you are, no book.

What about editing? You should probably make sure that all your participles aren’t dangling. Or maybe you will use the wrong verb tense in the middle of a paragraph. No one will read it because it’s likely unreadable.

They demand writers have high follower and reader counts already to monetize directly through the site. If you don’t have the numbers, you’ll defer readers to third-party sites for financial support.
I’d rather go to any other vanity press BUT you!
You pay the press and then they’ve made their money. They couldn’t care less how your book does. Their financial liability stops when yours begins. Plus, you still have to cover your own marketing costs, find an audience, gain a following, then work to sell it. Sound fun?

Novalock Publishing has a debut, YA, sci-fi/fantasy novel clocking in at 92,000 words of excitement! However, it definitely needs some work. It will endure the same process of refining through rounds of editing as any other client novel, with the final product being made available at bookstore partners, and online via Amazon and IngramSpark. Please note: editors aren’t free. Neither is cover design, book formatting, ebook formatting, paperback printing, and domestic shipping. All of those things would be covered by about $8,000. That doesn’t begin to TOUCH the cost of other things that we would love to do like single-run merchandise, audiobook production, meet and greets at our small bookstore partners and in a perfect world, appearing at…

Appearing in-person at conventions is a great way to drive book sales and further extend community engagement with the Novolck Publishing brand. The type of person that I will eventually market and serve is the type of person dressing up in cosplay who loves their IP of choice.
